Most would agree, there is nothing quite like a good cup of coffee to start the day, so we are here to help with a guide to some of the best coffee spots on the East End. Whether you are looking for a cozy spot to catch up with a friend, a quiet place to get some work done, or to simply grab a cup to go, there is a local coffee shop for you.

Love Lane

North Fork

From Greenport to Mattituck, there are several specialty coffee shops across the North Fork where you can enjoy a morning sipping on a cup of joe. Greenport offers numerous options including Aldo’s Coffee Company serving Aldo’s famous coffee and biscotti, D’Latte Café for coffee and gelato, and The Blue Duck Bakery Café for various bakery treats. Crazy Beans in Greenport is another must-visit spot offering a diner-style atmosphere with a large selection of specialty coffees, espressos, flavored lattes and teas, all served in fun coffee mugs. Further west, the North Fork Roasting Company (aka NoFo RoCo) in Southold is another cozy location, offering specialty artisanal coffee roasters. NoFo RoCo also offers delicious breakfast and lunch menus. Scoops Ice Cream in Cutchogue has recently expanded to become Scoops & Grinds and now serves coffee, specialty drinks and fresh baked goods along with their Hershey’s Ice Cream. With award-winning cappuccino and espresso, another well-known spot on the North Fork is Love Lane Kitchen in Mattituck, serving quality coffee hand-roasted by Long Island Coffee Roasters. Love Lane Kitchen is also a wonderful brunch spot.

Riverhead, Westhampton & Quogue

There are several hidden gems for coffee in the Riverhead area as well. The Sarikopa Organic Coffee & Tea House offers an extensive drink menu serving coffee, lattes, smoothies and fresh squeezed juices in addition to more than 50 varieties of tea. The Tea House is also a great spot for healthy breakfast and lunch options. Star Confectionery has been a staple in Riverhead for nearly 100 years and while coffee may not be their primary focus, this small luncheonette on Main Street will take you back to simpler times and is certainly worth a visit. Bean & Bagel Café in Calverton is another popular spot serving a wide selection of coffee as well as gourmet lattes and frappes along with their famous bagels and acai bowls.

The Beach Bakery & Grand Café in Westhampton Beach has long been a Hamptons’ favorite for their delicious coffee and specialty baked goods (the raspberry croissant is an absolute must have). The bakery also recently expanded to offer a full breakfast and lunch menu featuring vegetarian and pescatarian dishes. During the summer months, Beth’s Café in Quogue is another popular location for breakfast. Find a quiet table on their outdoor patio and enjoy a cup of coffee, smoothie or fresh pressed juice along with a healthy dish from Beth’s breakfast and lunch menus of fresh, local food. And last, but not least, if you stay with us at The Quogue Club, you won’t have to leave the hotel for the perfect cup of morning coffee as we offer a variety of drink options from espressos to lattes which you can enjoy curled up next to the fireplace in our salon. We also offer a complimentary, made-to-order breakfast for hotel guests.

The Golden Bear Cafe

Southampton to East Hampton

From Southampton to East Hampton, there are many local coffee shops popular among residents and visitors alike. A staple in the Hamptons since 1987, the Golden Pear Café has several locations across the South Fork, all offering fresh roasted coffee along with delicious baked goods and exceptional breakfast and lunch options. Located on Main Street in Southampton, the Village Cheese Shoppe offers a coffee and espresso bar featuring a variety of options including mochas, cappuccinos and turmeric lattes. The Cheese Shoppe also offers all your breakfast and lunch favorites from acai bowls and smoothies to wraps and chopped salads. Also with many locations across the East End, Hampton Coffee Company is well-known for its artisan coffee roasters and Italian-style espressos prepared with locally hand-roasted beans. We recommend visiting the original location in Water Mill for the full brunch experience. The original Tate’s Bake Shop in Southampton is also a must visit. While mainly known for its cookies and baked goods, Tate’s also serves delicious fresh brewed coffee. Further east, Mary’s Marvelous Coffee Bar in East Hampton takes their coffee very seriously using custom blended, organic, free trade beans for their coffee drinks from an in-house cold brew to macchiatos. Mary’s also offers a wide selection of pastries and breakfast items.

SagTown Frappe Coffee

Sag Harbor

Sag Harbor may be the coffee capital of the Hamptons with several cozy coffee shops to choose from in the village. Offering a wide selection of coffees, lattes and teas, SagTown Coffee has been a popular spot in Sag Harbor since 2012. SagTown Coffee also serves many Long Island breakfast favorites including egg sandwiches, avocado toast and New York style bagels. Come for the donuts, stay for the coffee at Grindstone in Sag Harbor. There is nothing quite like one of their fresh brioche donuts accompanied by a hot cup of premium coffee or specialty tea. If you are just grabbing a coffee and muffin to go, check out Jack’s Stir Brew Coffee. With locations across NYC and Eastern Long Island, Jack’s offers their own premium organic coffee and vegan baked goods. The Hamptons’ staple Golden Pear also has a location on Main Street in Sag Harbor where you can enjoy their popular coffee and breakfast options.
