Best Places to See Fireworks on Long Island!

It’s that time of year again! The Fourth of July is right around the corner and we are looking forward to all of the holiday festivities, from beach days to backyard barbeques and, of course, fireworks! With numerous fireworks shows taking place on the island, there are many opportunities to join in on the Independence Day celebrations. Below are just a few of the events happening across Long Island and here on the East End.

Riverhead – July 3rd

Riverhead will kick off their Alive on 25 series on Wednesday, July 3rd, which will include a fireworks show. Riverhead’s downtown will be taken over by food trucks, live music, activities for the kids, clothing and jewelry vendors, and so much more! The street festival begins at 5:00 pm with fireworks beginning around 9:00 pm.

Jones Beach – July 4th

One of the largest and most popular fireworks displays on the Island is the annual Fireworks Spectacular at Jones Beach State Park. With more than 100,000 attendees last year, the Jones Beach Spectacular will not disappoint with 30 minutes of stunning fireworks accompanied by an array of patriotic music. The Jones Beach fireworks can also be viewed from Wantagh Park or Cedar Creek Park, or purchase tickets for a boat cruise and enjoy the fireworks from the water. Show begins at 9:30 pm. Be sure to arrive early, however, as parking fills up quickly.

What better way to celebrate America than cheering on the Long Island Ducks at Bethpage Ballpark? Enjoy everything America with baseball, hot dogs and a fireworks spectacular. A night at the ballpark is sure to be fun for the entire family. Game begins at 6:35 pm with fireworks to follow immediately after the game.

Montauk – July 4th

Visit “The End” of Long Island for the annual Stars Over Montauk celebration. Montauk’s Fourth of July festivities feature the annual fireworks display over Umbrella Beach on the ocean. Enjoy the show from any Montauk beach along the south shore and various locations in town. Fireworks will begin around 9:00pm.

Southampton – July 5th

As part of the Southampton Fresh Air Home’s annual fundraiser, the American Picnic Fireworks display in Southampton is not to be missed, with production by the world-renowned Fireworks by Grucci. While the best views come from attending the fundraiser, the fireworks can also be viewed from Coopers Beach or from the water by boat in the Shinnecock Bay. Fireworks begin after 9:00pm.

Sag Harbor – July 6th

Visit Sag Harbor on Saturday, July 6th for the annual John A. Ward Independence Day Fireworks show. Enjoy another Fireworks by Grucci production while overlooking the water in Sag Harbor. The best spots for viewing include Marine Park or Haven’s Beach or anchor your boat in Sag Harbor Bay. Show begins around 9:30 pm.

Orient Harbor – July 6th

The annual fireworks in Orient will take place on Saturday, July 6th as well. Find a spot surrounding Orient Harbor and you will be sure to enjoy an amazing display. Fireworks begin at at 9:15 pm.

East Hampton – July 13th

The Clam Shell Foundation will once again host its annual Great Bonac Fireworks by Grucci. For nearly 30 years, East Hampton has been hosting this fireworks show on Three Mile Harbor. The show’s location on the water in Three Mile Harbor offers many wonderful viewing locations including the beaches at Maidstone Park, Sammy’s Beach, and beaches off Hands Creek Road or from a boat anchored in the harbor. Fireworks begin at 9:30 pm.

Shelter Island

Shelter Island – July 13th

Shelter Island will host their annual fireworks show on Saturday, July 13th as well. For the 62nd annual Shelter Island Fireworks, Fireworks by Grucci will return to produce a magical display from the water off of Crescent Beach. Enjoy the show from any point along the northwest side of the island from Jennings Point to Sunset Beach. Conkling Point on the North Fork also provides spectacular views of the Shelter Island show. Fireworks begin between 9:15 and 9:30pm.
